We all want a life that works—better relationships, less anxiety, more peace, more purpose, and a life that holds up when things get hard. But what if some of the things we assume will get us there are actually taking us in the wrong direction? In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus speaks directly to anger, relationships, money, worry, prayer, enemies, and what makes a life strong. This series is an invitation to take a fresh look at what Jesus actually said and ask one simple question: What if he was right?
Do I have to be fair? : Matthew 5:38-48 (Oct. 4, 2026, 3:45 p.m. )
In this week’s message from Pastor Dan, we continue our series What If Jesus Was Right? and take a look at some of Jesus’ most challenging words about relationships, fairness, enemies, and love. Jesus turns the question upside down. Instead of asking, “Where’s the line?” He asks us to consider a different standard: What does love require? From “eye for eye” to loving our enemies, Jesus calls His followers to respond differently—not because fairness doesn’t matter, but because we are called to reflect the character of our Father in heaven.
How Far is Too Far? : Matthew 5:17-37 (Sept. 27, 2026, 2:53 p.m. )
When it comes to relationships, most of us want to know where the line is. How angry can I get? What counts as crossing the line? How far is too far when it comes to lust, marriage, honesty, or the way we treat other people? This Sunday, we continue our What If Jesus Was Right? series with “How Far Is Too Far?”, a challenging look at anger, lust, marriage, truth-telling—and what it means to let Jesus reshape the way we love people. And if you’ve messed up? Jesus doesn’t leave us there. Grace forgives your past and transforms your future.
Am I Making a Difference? : Matthew 5:13-16 (Sept. 20, 2026, 4:58 p.m. )
We tend to measure influence by followers, platforms, and applause. But Jesus measures influence differently. He looked at ordinary people on a hillside and said, "You are the salt of the earth. You are the light of the world." In Matthew 5:13–16, Jesus reminds us that the way we live should point to the God we love. We're called to be salt that preserves, purifies, flavors, and creates thirst—and light that reveals, guides, and shines.
Am I Living the Good Life? : Matthew 5:1-12 (Sept. 13, 2026, 2:47 p.m. )
In the opening message of What If Jesus Was Right? Rethinking How Life Works, we begin with one of the most familiar—and most challenging—passages in Scripture: (Matthew 5:1–12) the Beatitudes. Jesus describes a “blessed” life in ways that can seem almost upside down: humility instead of self-sufficiency, hunger for righteousness instead of getting what we want, mercy instead of keeping score, peacemaking instead of winning, and hope even when following Him comes at a cost.
